- Career
- Born in Fukuoka Prefecture. Chairman of the theatrical company5-jigen. Matsui made his scriptwriter debut in 2009 with the drama ”Futatsu no Spica” and was the youngest scriptwriter to debut at NHK. His first work as a director of a feature film was ”Afro Tanaka” in 2012. Matsui's unique style is highly rated both within and outside Japan.
