After graduating from the Cinema Department of San Francisco State University, Uchida created his independent work ”WEEKEND BLUES” which won two awards (Planning Award & Brilliant Award) at the Pia Film Festival 2002. His first movie with theatrical release was ”A Stranger of Mine” in 2005.
