- Born in Oita Prefecture. After graduating from Nihon Kogakuin College, Hirakawa worked as a production assistant for tv drama series. Titles like ”Rookies” and ”Jin” became a big success. His first movie to direct was ”Sono toki wa kare ni yoroshiku” in 2007.
