Grew up in Tottori Prefecture. Graduate of Japan Academy of the Moving Image (now the Japan Institute of the Moving Image). After graduation he studied under Shinji Somai and started writing scenarios after working as an assistant director or working in theaters. 2016: debut as a director of “Jūshi no Yoru (One Night when I was 14).”
