- Shunsaku Ikehara went to scenario laboratory from the time that he was in a university. He was trained as a movie assistant director under a movie director, Shohei Imamura, then worked with a TV director, Yasuo Tsuruhashi, a TV producer, Yasuo Yagi, and an actor, Ken Ogata to created many TV dramas.
In 1999, he has done a directing job with “Atsumono – Mokuhei no Aki”.
In 2009, he has received the Medal with Purple Ribbon（of Honor, Japan).
