- Shimoyama first made his debut as a music video producer with the music video for Toshinobu Kubota's song ”Be Wanabee” in 1989. ”Eiga mitai na koi ga shitai” (1991) was the first tv series he directed. Later in 1997, he shot the movie ”CUTE” which became his debut work as a movie director.
