- Born in Osaka. Ohata won the Special Jury Awards for his movie ”The Big Gun” at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival and the Pia Film Festival in 2009. After that, he worked on the tv drama series ”Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro - Hyaku Monogatari” which became his commercial film debut. The movie ”Henge” (2012) was his first work to be released in theaters in Japan.
