- In 2003, Kakehi's movie ”Canned Beauties” won numerous film festival awards including the Grand Prix at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival. The movie was released in 2004 in theaters in Japan. In 2005, he shot a self-remake of this movie for the television show ”Yonimo Kimyona Monogatari”. He made his debut as a director of feature-length movies in 2008 with ”Sweet Rain: Accuracy of Death”.
