Born in Shiga Prefecture. After graduating from University, Chouno aspired to work in the movie industry and went to Kyoto to became director Takashi Harada's pupil. After that, Chouno became an assistant director under Seijun Suzuki, Juuzo Itami and other directors. ”The Signs of Love” was Chouno's first movie released in theaters.
