Career

Having a grandfather and an uncle who are actors, Nakata grew up with movies. He entered the movie industry in Hong Kong in the late 80s where he had interactions with various local people in the industry including Tsui Hark and Wong Kar-wai. Nakata introduced Hong Kong movies to the Japanese media. He then debuted as a director in 2000 with his movie ”Wild Night”.
