- Born in Tokyo. After graduating from Waseda University, Yamauchi entered Dentsu Eiga-sha in 1983. After leaving the company, he worked on commercials, short movies, feature-length movies as well as creation and direction of stage plays. He made his debut as a feature-length movie director in 2011 with his movie ”Being Mitsuko”.
