- After graduating from Meiji University, Maruta joined Tohokushinsha, a company for DVD production and acquisition of western movies. In 2004, he joined the animation studio MADHOUSE and became the studio's representative director. Many works produced by MADHOUSE, including "Genma Taisen", "YAWARA!", "DEATH NOTE", "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time", "Summer Wars" and more have been awarded multiple times. Currently, he is a producer and director at the production company W FIELD Inc.
