- Born in 1955 in Gifu Prefecture. Entered TOHOKUSHINSHA FILM CORPORATION in 1977 after graduating from Waseda University. During the home video era, he was in charge of acquiring Western movies as well as production/distribution of movies. He was also involved in the production of animation works including "Patlabor: The Movie" (1989). In 1990, he entered Pioneer LDC. With his experiences of producing the super hit animation series "Tenchi Muyou!" (1992), he established Genco in 1997, a company exclusively for project planing/producing which is quite rare for the industry.
