Graduated from Nihon University College of Art, Department of Film. Together with director Joji Matsuoka, he made independent films like "Inaka no housoku" (Selected work at PFF). In 1984, he joined the company Tinderbox, where the directors Yoshitaka Kawai and Yukio Ninagawa served as board directors. He worked as production assistant for movies directed by Yasuo Tsuruhashi, Shigemichi Sugita, Yoshitaka Kawai and others. In 1987, he produced his first movie "Swimming Upstream" (directed by Joji Matsuoka). Later, he became a freelance producer and then founded Studio3 INC. where he is serving as representative director.
