- Misawa made his feature film directorial debut Chigasaki Story in 2014, which won the Best Screenplay Award at the Beijing International Film Festival and was selected by International Film Festival Rotterdam and more. The Murders of Oiso is his first co-production in collaboration with Hong Kong filmmaker Fei-Pang Wong who is known as director of "Ten Years" and supported by Busan International Film Festival’s Asian Cinema Fund.
This film was distributed no only in Japan but also in Hong Kong.
