- Born in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture. Ryuta Kawasaki graduated from the screenwriting and directing course at the Yokohama Broadcasting Technical School (now known as the Japan Institute of the Moving Image). He studied scenario writing under screenwriter/director Kishu Izuchi, and made his screenwriting debut in 2010 with Rhinoceros Horn (dir. Kishu Izuchi).
