Mari Hiraki spent 10 years working at the headquarters of an eyewear company and became a scriptwriter after winning the Hashida Award.
During her corporate life, she experienced marriage, pregnancy, maternity leave, and a return to work. Based on her experiences, she specializes in portraying realistic images of women living in the modern world, including working women and women raising children.
She is conscious of portraying the "multifaceted nature" that all people have, sometimes seriously and sometimes comically, and aims to create dramas that are not just "fine-sounding" stories.
