Career
I was born in Tokyo in 1989. After graduating from Waseda University’s School of Culture, Media and Society, I completed a master’s degree in the Screenwriting Program at the Graduate School of Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts. My work Dioramatic Nishitama was a finalist for the 40th Kido Award. I contributed to the plot of the film Ah, Wilderness (starring Masaki Suda and Yang Ik-june) and wrote scripts for independent films. My commercial screenwriting debut came with A Closed Mountain Lodge in the Snow (based on the novel by Keigo Higashino, starring Daiki Shigeoka, Shotaro Mamiya, and Ayami Nakajo). With emotionally charged dialogue and strong narrative structure, I successfully adapted works that were once considered impossible to film. My expertise lies in human mysteries that delve into the essence of humanity, often incorporating socially relevant themes.
